Sydney performance workshop Gas Racing delivered personal best times for two more of its customers at the Santo’s Summer Thunder event at Sydney Dragway on Saturday, January 20, 2018.

Even with the 40 degree heat making conditions difficult for turbocharged boost, personal bests were set by Zoran Gajic’s BMW M3 and Loues Cosentino’s Mazda RX7, both using Toyota 2JZ engines.

Gajic’s run of 6.48 seconds at 224mph was his quickest of all time and one of the top passes of the evening in the Extreme bracket.

Meanwhile, Cosentino’s 6.63 second run at 208mph blasted away his personal best by over a tenth of a second, as well as adding more than 4mph to his highest ever speed.

Cosentino said he expects more to come from his sleek RX7.

“Joe Signorelli has built me a strong combination and we now have the fastest two speed Powerglide 2JZ drag car in the world,” he said. “The help from Joe at the track is great. The car and I have moulded together and with Joe helping me we will go much faster.”

Gas Racing’s Joe Signorelli said personal best times from customers were just as satisfying as his own.

“Drag racing is a sport where drivers aim to constantly advance and whether you make an improvement by a thousandth of a second or a tenth of a second it is extremely satisfying,” he said.

“Congratulations to Zoran and Loues on their achievements at Santo’s Summer Thunder and we look forward to going searching for more area to improve and refine in these awesome machines.”
